Dear CEWIL community,
The Board of Directors of CEWIL Canada joins the many voices in offering our most sincere condolences to the communities and post secondary campuses that have been affected by the tragic loss of life as a result of Ukraine International Flight 752. The death of all 176 people aboard the flight bound for Kyiv, including 63 Canadians, is being felt not only across our country, but also on our campuses.
As Co-op and WIL practitioners, we support students both coming from and going abroad, and we do so with the hopes of never having to face such sorrow. Having to share condolences with so many campuses on the same day, across the country, speaks to the depth of the grief and the breadth of the impact for our community. Our members are passionate about the futures of students and the loss of so many young lives is tragic and heartbreaking. May the togetherness of our membership bring strength to those who are supporting their colleagues, students, loved ones and all those coping with the ongoing news of this tragedy.
Your CEWIL National Board
