COMPETITION

This position will be responsible for representing Mount Royal University, the Career Services department and Bachelor of Business Administration program to multiple stakeholders. You will establish, maintain and enhance the cooperation necessary among employers, students and faculty to ensure that all partners benefit from participating in the Work Experience component of the Bachelor of Business Administration program. You will administer events and promote services that focus on enhancing student and graduate employment opportunities by building professional relationships with industry representatives and employers

DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement a strategic local, regional, and provincial marketing plan in order to contact and engage targeted employers to hire work term students for quality work term settings/opportunities
  • Source, develop and maintain employer-client relationships to ensure continued participation in events and recruitment opportunities that support work experience partnerships, and student/graduate employment goals
  • Build and maintain effective student relationships and engagement which include: meeting with students 1:1 and in group settings, delivering an in class professional development course (1 full semester) that prepare students to respond to the labor market and guide them in (including but not limited to) preparing resumes and cover letters, self-assessment, portfolios and self-marketing tools
  • Liaise with faculty to collaborate on program progress, and student development practices that inform and support outcomes-focused learning
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of multiple special events
  • Develop reports, surveys, update website and database content, and assist with research projects

QUALIFICATIONS:       

  • Possess three to five years marketing experience with a related post-secondary degree coupled by relevant work experience in recruitment, employment development, training and work-based learning programs
  • Experience building professional business relationships, with a strong understanding of opportunitiesavailable within the business field
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to multitask, work with multiple groups of stakeholders to achieve set targets and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and within self-managed teams
  • Track record for professionalism, problem-solving, time and project management, organizational skills and diplomacy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and Google Apps (e-mail and calendar platform)
  • Must have experience working with contact management database systems
  • Must have access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license, limited travel may be required
