Master of Environmental Science Internship Coordinator

Reporting directly to the Manager of Business Development, Arts & Science Cooperative Programs and working collaboratively with the department of Physical and Environmental Science, the Coordinator is responsible for implementing all non-academic internship placement aspects of the Masters of Environmental Science (MEnvSc) Program. The main areas of responsibility include student coaching and advising, student career development, employer development, business development and internal/external communications and relations.
Duties include: one-on-one meetings with students to assess their interests and advise on market opportunities; researching potential employers, contacting appropriate targets through various methods including face-to-face, telephone, email, letter, networking activities, and supporting them through the recruiting and hiring process. The secondary focus for this position will be special projects within the context of the Arts & Science Co-op Department.
Education: University degree in relevant area(s) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: At least five years of experience in the administration of educational programming, advising, or career development, along with experience in job development/relationship building. Experience within environmental science field is an asset.
Skills: Strong computer skills and working knowledge of MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, web editing software, relational databases, and the Internet. Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
Other: Must have excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills; tact, diplomacy, and professionalism; results-orientation and time-management skills; highly developed presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 12 -- $67,372 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $86,157. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol. \
