University of Toronto Impact Centre Event: Entrepreneurial Work Integrated Learning: Beyond Incubation

posted on February 21, 2019

Abstracts due April 2, 2019

Event day: September 25, 2019

The “EWIL: Beyond Incubation” symposium will bring together educators, program developers, program managers, quality assurance professionals, researchers, and entrepreneurs interested in contributing to the development of entrepreneurship education in Canada’s post-secondary sector.

We will spend the day sharing practices and exploring ways in which we can capture the learning that takes place in accelerators and incubators. We would like to move the conversation beyond economic metrics that are typically associated with on-campus entrepreneurship activities (e.g. jobs created, valuation, investment secured) to understand the skills developed through startup creation and growth. We also wish to explore how we can learn from more traditional WIL programs.

Expected symposium outcomes include EWIL-specific guidelines and best practices to help guarantee the quality of learning experiences that students receive through participation in EWIL programs.

Come out and join us if you are interested in learning and contributing to the ongoing debate on entrepreneurship, education, experiential learning, work-integrated learning, and skill assessment. For more information, please see https://www.impactcentre.ca/beyond-incubation/
