CEWIL Canada recognizes the challenging situation that COVID-19 has created for our partners in work-integrated learning. Decisions are being made daily on how to address the matter as governments, institutions and employers react and respond to Health Authority directives in their various jurisdictions.
In support of all our constituents, we ask everyone to respect and abide not only by their local health directives and institutional policies but by those in the jurisdictions governing the location of future work experience(s) or incoming student hire(s).
This outbreak affects us all. A great deal of travel has already been curtailed, hiring decisions may have to be rescinded and class formats may have to be altered or cancelled. While CEWIL Canada expects members to uphold quality WIL programming and standards, we also expect appropriate flexibility and leniency to be exercised when adjudicating individual cases impacted by an outbreak of this magnitude and wide-spread impact.
