Saskatchewan Polytechnic is now seeking an Associate Vice President, Learning and Teaching to join its team and play an influential role in driving the Polytechnic towards its vision of becoming the first-choice polytechnic in Canada. This position will play a key role in academic policy and procedure development and in aligning internal services to support Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s academic model.

The AVP Learning and Teaching will provide vision and leadership through a broad variety of services that support academic program delivery, further student learning and advance Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s strategic goals, values and mandate. The new AVP will be responsible for creating, planning, delivering and integrating a range of institution-wide initiatives, programs and services within nine major areas or departments of accountability:

  • Instructional and Leadership Development Centre
  • Library and Testing Services
  • Learning Technologies
  • Recognition of Prior Learning
  • Simulation Centres
  • Degree Granting
  • Academic Model
  • Continuing Education and College Liaison
  • Centre for Minerals Innovation

As the ideal candidate, you possess a graduate degree in education or a related field, with at least ten (10) years of experience in a senior management role responsible for developing and leading high-performance teams within a post-secondary education environment. Your career includes a demonstrated history of leading innovation and transformation within post-secondary education, and prior experience as a director, associate dean or dean at a post-secondary institution will be considered an asset.
