Associate Vice President, Business Development
Saskatchewan Polytechnic is the leader of post-secondary applied education and training in the province, and is poised to reach that same standard nationally. This newly created position will be key in leading the development, promotion and implementation of innovative business development strategies to achieve the organization’s goals and advance its standing in the national post-secondary education market.
The AVP Business Development will report to the VP Strategy and Business Development. In partnership with the Deans, and building from the existing knowledge and expertise of the schools, this incumbent will be responsible for spearheading business development initiatives in line with Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s organizational vision and strategy. Leveraging existing and new relationships with employers at the provincial, national, and international levels, as well as with influential external partners and stakeholders, will be a critical element of this role. With an eye on evolving labour market trends and sector support priorities, the AVP Business Development will generate new, innovative and entrepreneurial approaches to education, skills training, applied research and corporate training and consultative services. They will ensure that all business development activities enhance the organization’s reputation and culture, and advance the objectives of Saskatchewan Polytechnic. The Associate Vice President will be instrumental in sharing the story of Saskatchewan Polytechnic and inspiring others about our future.
While a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing and/or a Master of Business Administration from a recognized university or post-secondary institution would be ideal, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Beyond your 7+ years in progressively responsible business development roles, your reputation for working collaboratively across different lines of business and your experience in forging business partnerships, formulating business cases and, integrating new and innovative business solutions or technologies are all assets for this position. In addition to the above qualifications, it is important that you have knowledge of education and training or similar services. Experience with developing new products or services would be an asset.
