WIL Practitioner Modules

Learn with Canada's WIL Community
Work-integrated learning is built on relationships, reflection, and practice. The CEWIL Canada WIL Practitioner Modules bring together professionals from across Canada to explore emerging issues, share experiences, and strengthen their ability to design and support high-quality WIL opportunities.

Designed by practitioners, for practitioners, the program combines self-paced learning with facilitated discussions, reflective practice activities, live virtual learning sessions, and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange. Participants learn not only from course content, but from colleagues working in a variety of institutional, disciplinary, and regional contexts.

Throughout the program, participants will engage with:

  • Written content, videos, and practical resources;
  • Voices and perspectives of students, employers, and community partners;
  • Real-world case studies from WIL practitioners across Canada;
  • Research and leading practices from the WIL field;
  • Facilitated discussion forums and reflective activities;
  • Live virtual learning sessions focused on practical application; and,
  • Opportunities to connect with a national network of WIL professionals.

NOTE: Credit cannot be granted for the first course based on prior experience — even longtime WIL practitioners will find there is much to explore, particularly around ethics, risk, EDIA, and practical application beyond theory. These courses go beyond research and frameworks; they focus on WIL in practice, developed by practitioners, for practitioners — that’s the true strength of the program.
