Placement Coordinator

The Office of Experiential Education (OEE) is responsible for ensuring the delivery and coordination of diverse experiential education experiences for students enrolled in a variety of programs at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. The OEE operates as the central hub for all activities related to experiential education and provides support to pharmacist preceptors in practice sites across the province and beyond.

This is an exciting time for OEE as the Faculty is currently undergoing a large scale curriculum renewal for it’s largest undergraduate program, the PharmD program, which will impact the structure and delivery of experiential programming namely, rotation lengths, and sequence of the matching process. There is opportunity for the successful candidate to work with other faculty and staff to provide input on the experiential changes and to see them come to life as they implemented.

Under the direction of the Director, Office of Experiential Education (OEE), you will facilitate the successful placement of students enrolled in various programs at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. As the main point of contact for an assigned group of incoming Pharmacy students, this role will prepare students for all non-academic aspects of experiential programs. As a student-centered professional, the Placement Coordinator will support students via the phone, in person, email, written materials, and information sessions by providing information on placement site requirements and processes, and will also be responsible for tracking student placement documentation to ensure completeness. This role will also work closely with other staff and faculty members to resolve issues during experiential rotations and will foster and maintain positive relations with internal and external stakeholders. As a key member of the Office of Experiential Education (OEE), you will interact and engage with preceptors and other industry partners to support the experiential process by identifying, fostering, and maintaining relationships with potential and existing employers.
