Mandate, Purpose, Membership and Organization 

Mandate: 
The Directors & Managers Expertise Community (DMEC) is a communication channel for CEWIL directors and managers. 

Purpose: 
The purpose of DMEC is to: 
Serve as a venue to discuss and promote institutional issues for co-operative education and work-integrated learning and to provide a mechanism to learn, connect and share with other directors and managers.
Share information and encourages the adoption of consistent program guidelines and standards for quality co-operative education and work-integrated learning as per CEWIL accredited criteria and to inform best practices within their home institution.  

Membership: 
1. The Directors & Managers Expertise Community will be comprised of members from each post-secondary institution in Canada that hold a management/ leadership role in Co-op and/or WIL in their institutions.

Organization: 
1. Annually at least two meetings will be conducted, either in person or virtually, at the discretion of the Co-Chairs.
2. The Co-Chairs are the elected Directors-at-Large CEWIL board members. The term for the Co-Chairs is aligned with the Directors-at-Large term as a CEWIL board member. 
3. CEWIL’s administrative provider will maintain the list of directors and managers.
4. Upon the recommendation of the Co-chairs, sub-committees may be appointed as required.
5. The Co-Chairs will report back to the CEWIL Board as appropriate.
